About Me

I have always been an entrepreneur since my early years. I try a lot of things and have been fortunate to have had many great experiences in my life, all of which I have learned from. I have a passion for life, reading, learning, and teaching others how to improve their lives. This is the purpose of this blog.

    Does Failure Exist?

    Thursday, March 27th, 2008

There are many books that I have read that have impacted my life positively in one way or another. I’m always reading something and telling people about it. I have my “top 10″ book list on my website, but this really is pathetically incomplete.

There is one book that is not on my book list that really should be on there. Reading this book will raise your self esteem. This book will convince you that you can’t help but succeed at whatever you decide to do. It is impossible to fail. This book will install productive habits and positive programming into you through repeated affirmations. It will teach you to be positive and self-confident. On top of this, the book is only about 100 pages long! Such a small book, but such a big promise.

Some great (free) software to get more done in less time

    Friday, March 21st, 2008

Computers can be either an enormous productivity tool or an enormous time-waster. It all depends on how you use them, and how disciplined you are with them. I carry my laptop (almost) everywhere, which means I can be ultra-productive or waste a lot of time, depending on how I approach it.

I’d like us all to move more toward the productive side of things, and I try to find software that helps me accomplish this.

Recently, a friend asked me for some tips on being a better public speaker. I decided to post about this so that others can benefit also. I don’t claim to be an expert on the subject, I have not been speaking very long and I do not have much experience. However, people have told me that I am quite good at speaking and I have made this transformation in a very short period of time. Now, I will unveil my closely-held secrets on how I have done this.

I have read books on speaking, which have given me some great ideas. Just like anything else in life, success in speaking depends on how you picture the experience in your mind, and on your mental state at the time. I got a couple great tips reading “The Quick and Easy Way to Effective Speaking” by Dale Carnegie. Carnegie says that when people fail at speaking, (more…)

    Speaking update

    Monday, March 10th, 2008

I recently added a new section to my website entitled “speaking”. I am going to keep this updated with audio recordings of speeches I have given. I was invited to give my “Avoiding Negativity” speech in front of approximately 45 people at a non-toastmasters related event! Although I am not getting paid for this, it will be my first legitimate speaking engagement, hopefully with more to follow. I am getting my name out there!

Well, I’m back from Italy. I learned a lot. Italians have perfected the art of eating, and eating is truly an art in Italy. Maybe I will post more about it later.

I have always considered myself to be a pretty fit guy, in good shape. I am really into mountain biking, it is one of the best things ever. But, over the past year, I have not made the time to exercise as much as I would like. I make excuses about why I don’t have the time. As a result, (more…)
